The Site Grading Analysis will vary based on the complexity of the site and what it is that you need to coordinate with your Civil engineer. Typically, a spreadsheet is prepared that details the grading by unit. This spreadsheet aims to calculate floor-to-floor heights and floor elevations (grades) at a minimum. It can be expanded to capture other conditions on the site requiring coordination:
  • Patio Elevations
  • Balcony Elevations
  • Stair Riser Counts & Elevations
  • Garage Slopes & Elevations
  • Apron Slopes & Elevations
  • Complex Site Grading
It is encouraged that you work with someone that has experience coordinating with Civil engineers as it is often difficult to consolidate the information between Civil drawings and Architectural Site Plans. GrGregoire would be a good resource to talk to if you are planning on creating a grading calculator.

Production Setup:

This sheet is typically an linked PDF of the grading calculator, exported by the person that completed the work. They will store a copy of the PDF in BIM.4 Import Links ( DMA-BIM Folder Structure )
