The building elevation is always the same scale and is the view that is tagged and annotated. When a building elevation at this scale does not fit on the view it will need to be broken up into sections and  ⁠⁠A401 - Key Building Elevation⁠  introduced to callout the individual sections.

Drawing Checklist:

  • Grid Extents
  • Level Extents
  • Datum Dimensions on Grids and Levels
  • Site / Building Legend for Sites w Multiple Buildings
  • View Title
  • Grade Line / Masking
  • Matchlines
  • Unit type number in text, DM_Text_Title, above each unit.
  • Elevation Notes (Plan Notes)
  • Notes key, filter by sheet.
  • Callouts to Unit Elevations, if applicable.
  • Window Tags
  • Door Tags, for exterior doors only.
  • Egress Window / Door Notation in text, DM_Text, at each egress window or door.
  • Dimension to grade.
  • Dimension of width of operable unit.
  • Dimension of height of operable unit.



Elevation Notes

The Notes key is generated using Revit's Note Block and the DM_Annotation_Drawing_Note which is loaded in the Base Template:
Elevation notes are in the 400 series for sorting so this would be accomplished by using a three digit number starting with 4, 4##.



Egress Window / Door Notation

Sample Notes:
  • Egress Door to Patio as per 9.9.10.1 NBC AE 2023
  • Egress Window as per 9.9.10.1 NBC AE 2023
